About
Who We Are
Recovering Addicts Against Incarceration for Rehabilitation (RAAIR) is a nonprofit movement built by and for people who know the power of second chances. We believe recovery should be met with opportunity, not punishment. Our community stands as proof that treatment, compassion, and support create lasting change—far more than cycles of incarceration ever could.
Our Mission
We exist to replace stigma with understanding, punishment with rehabilitation, and hopelessness with real pathways to recovery. RAAIR advocates for a system that prioritizes treatment over prison, invests in mental health and recovery services, and empowers individuals to reclaim their lives with dignity and purpose.
Why We Do This
Addiction is not a crime—it’s a health issue. Yet countless people are locked away instead of being given access to the care they need. The result is broken families, wasted potential, and communities left behind. RAAIR is here to change that story. By raising awareness, shaping policy, and building networks of support, we fight for a society where recovery is accessible, respected, and celebrated.
What We Stand For
-
Rehabilitation over incarceration – Because treatment saves lives.
-
Dignity and respect – Every person deserves a chance to be seen as more than their past.
-
Community and connection – Recovery thrives in relationships, not isolation.
-
Change through advocacy – We use our voices and lived experiences to transform laws, systems, and hearts.
